Jonathan’s popular figurative compositions are now well known to collectors of contemporary Scottish paintings. His paintings are
populated with distinctive thickset characters, often fishermen at work on the shore, each figure suffused with Jonathan’s gentle
observational humour. His work, very much the product of the Glasgow School of Art and his upbringing in a Banff fishing community,
can be found in the permanent collections of Arthur Anderson, Ernst & Young, Glasgow City Art Gallery and the Hilton Hotel Group.
