Studying at Glasgow School of Art under John Cunningham, Mike graduated in 1975 with a first. He spent some time working in Rio de Janeiro as a designer before returning to Scotland. In 1983 he began working as senior lecturer at Glasgow School of Art until he resigned to devote his time to painting in 1997. He is currently Professor of Art and Design at Lincoln. His work is held in the collections of Argyll & Bute Museum and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
