Born in St Andrews, Fife, June graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1972. She has pursued a successful artistic career while teaching or tutoring across the UK. Her reputation is genuinely global, having been invited as an artist in residence in Norway and the United States, held solo shows in Chicago, Bremen and London, has exhibited at the Yale Centre for British Art Newhaven and has work in the permanent collections of the Albertina Museum, Vienna and Boston City Art Gallery. She has been described as Scotland’s foremost expressionist landscape painter and has been the subject of several television documentaries. June was artist in residence at the National Gallery, 1985/6.
